Rehabilitation

Acute and chronic pain can have a significant impact on the quality of your life. Your condition may make daily activities too difficult to tackle, an occupation too taxing to maintain, and recreation too excruciating to enjoy. But life doesn’t have to stay this way. Comprehensive pain rehabilitation takes an interdisciplinary approach to long-term pain management and treatment, shifting the focus from finding a cure to learning to live an active life with a tolerable pain level.  Our pain rehabilitation programs are designed for patients that suffer from chronic pain conditions as a result of injury, disease, or surgical procedures.  Listed below are some of the pain rehabilitation services available at our medical center to help you get back the life you desire and deserve.

Type Application
Osteopathic Manipulative Treatments (including spinal manipulations or muscle energy) Moving muscles and joints via manipulative techniques including direct and indirect approaches.
Physical, Occupational, and Behavioral Therapy Using passive and active therapies to reduce pain, increase flexibility, build strength, and improve posture.
Personalized Diet and Exercise Programs Providing a nutritional plan and engaging patients in controlled, gradual, and progressive exercises to avoid stiffness and weakness, minimize the recurrence of pain, and reduce the severity and duration of possible future flare-up episodes.
Assistive Devices To aid in function and mobility by using a straight or quad cane, standard or rolling walker, manual or power wheelchair.
Orthotics/Prosthetics Medical mechanical devices used to decrease pain and increase stability in an unstable joint.

Many of the services listed above can complement other forms of pain management and treatment, and in some cases, they can even replace drugs or surgery. Our team of healthcare professionals will work with you to develop a customized rehabilitation program to improve your physical function, decrease your pain when possible, and help you gain the skills needed to manage your pain for the rest of your life.
